First of all: I can't cook. I can't bake. I don't even know how to use a microwave. I've never even made pasta. But I managed to make scones - so the recipe really is easy.
Ingredients:
250 g flour
2 tsp baking powder
40 g sugar
30 g butter (cold)
150 ml milk
1 pinch of salt
75 g raisins
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 220°C
- Mix together the flour and the baking powder and add salt and sugar.
- Mix the butter in flakes with the flour.
- Add the milk and the raisins and knead everything together. The dough should be smooth and consolidated, if not add some more flour or milk.
- Leave it in the fridge for 10 minutes.
- Roll the dough on a floured work surface to a thickness of ~2cm.
- Cut out circles with a diameter of 5-8cm (works best with a glass).
- Put them on a greased baking tray and leave them for 5 minutes.
- Bake them for 10-12 minutes until they're golden yellow. The circles should double their volume.
- Leave them to cool down on.

And that's it. Now you can eat them (best when they're still warm) with butter, clotted cream, sweetened whipped cream or jam.
The first time I ate scones was when I went to London in March. Found some cheap ones in a M&S near Tower Bridge... and they tasted exactly like the ones I made myself. Yay!
